The Greenville County Disabilities and Special Needs Board is the single point of entry for all Greenville County applicants. To apply for services, please call one of the numbers below, depending on the age and disability of the applicant:

• Children and adults over five years of age, all new requests for services: 864-281-3960
• Children birth to three years of age, all new requests for services: BabyNet - 864-331-1450
• Children three to five years of age, all new requests for services: KidVentures - 864-281-9753
• Children and adults with a head or spinal cord injury, all new requests for services need to be forwarded to the South Carolina Services Information System: 1-866-867-3864 (Toll Free)

Note: Beginning Thursday, July 1, 2010, Screenings for MR/RD referrals will no longer occur locally but will be completed by the University of South Carolina - Center for Disability Resources in Columbia. This involves the screening function for MR/RD, Autism, or children over 3 years old seeking DDSN eligibility for the first time.

New referrals for MR/RD, Autism, and children over 3 years seeking DDSN eligibility for services please call 1-800-289-7012. Referrals for children less than 36 months old need to call Babynet at 864-331-1451. For HASCI referrals call Toll Free 1-866-867-3864.

There are several programs that provide wonderful opportunities for volunteers to be involved in these services. One in particular is called "Friendship Connection." It is simply about making friends with special needs individuals. Everyone of us have in common the need for community. People with lifelong disabilities are wonderful contributors to our community. Our voluneer "Friendship Connection" is just another way in providing quality life.
